I write Shaver Notes, a small site about one thing: helping you pick an electric shaver that suits your face, not the one with the biggest ad budget.

This site exists because the question "which electric shaver should I buy?" is almost never answered with the thing that actually decides it: your beard, your skin and how often you shave. Most lists hand you a ranking and leave you to guess which row is yours. So every page here is built around matching, and around what a shaver costs to keep running, not just what it costs to buy.

I work from the things anyone can check: the maker's own specifications, the Amazon listing as it stood on a dated snapshot, the replacement schedules each brand publishes, and the patterns that show up across owner ratings. Where that evidence runs out, I say so rather than filling the gap with a story.

How I choose and rank shavers

Each shaver is scored on five things: closeness (30%), skin comfort (20%), owner ratings and the number of them (20%), running cost (15%) and convenience (15%). The inputs are the maker's specifications, Amazon listings checked on a set date (the latest was October 27, 2026), and the replacement intervals each brand publishes for heads and blades. Where I summarize what owners say, I use my own words and don't copy reviews.

I don't run a lab and I don't pretend to. Nothing here is a hands-on test, and you won't find a sentence on this site claiming I shaved with all seventeen of these for six months. When a page says something is the "closest" or "gentlest", that is a judgment drawn from the evidence above, and it is labeled as one.

What I don't do

No paid placements. Brands can't buy a spot or a better score.
No fake "tested for 6 months" claims.
No prices hard-coded into articles; they go stale too fast. Every button goes to the live Amazon listing.

How the site earns money

When you buy through an Amazon link here, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes the order of a list. Details are in the affiliate disclosure.

Updates

I recheck the list when brands release new models and at least every quarter. The date at the top of each page changes only when the content does. Latest update: November 1, 2026.
